‘Battle Through The Heavens’ is an adaptation of a Chinese light novel. Xiao Yan is the main protagonist of this anime. This story is about strength and power and also portrays the atrocities committed to the weaker category.  Xiao Yan held powers that no one had. But, due to some unforeseen circumstances, he lost all of his abilities and fell into despair, and he was placed into the third stage as a Dou Disciple, followed by everyone’s ignorance. So, he sets out to find ways to get his powers back. In every season, fans have been through all the stages of his life, only to find him growing stronger in each. Xiao Yan was about to lose all his hope. But he accidentally summons his spiritual side from his mother’s ring, and he breaks every boundary and reaches a step closer in every season. Battle Through The Heavens is based on a novel written by Heavenly Silkworm Potato. Season four was released on March 28, 2021, and it was produced by Shanghai Motion Magic and Tencent Video Animation. Season three aired on July 21, 2019. As per the fourth season, Xiao Yan is set to participate in the Alchemist Competition to awaken Yao Lao. Xiao Yan gets back the lost honor of the Jia Ma Empire by winning the competition. Now, will he ascend the pinnacle to obtain the highest cultivation?

Character Analysis of Xiao.

Xiao Yan knew that people became respectful towards him because of his talent, and they will instantly turn cold as soon as he loses it. He experienced this all along. He wasn’t always a cold-hearted person. Because he was Backstabbed, he chose to unleash his heartlessness. His dominant perception, determination, and stubbornness brought him attention from the greatest lords as well. After meeting Yao Lao, he gained back his confidence as he knew he could gain back all his powers and cultivate Dou Di.

He accepts Yao Lao as his teacher, and in turn, he prepares him as an alchemist and trains him to gain back everything at a fast pace. There isn’t much character development in here, but the fact he becomes a person who can handle everything now is quite alluring. The first season and second season don’t depict a higher characteristic of a developed animation. But there’s a huge improvement in season 3.

Shanghai Motion Magic has invested its best in the animation of ‘Battle Through the Heavens’. Chinese Novels are really good to read as well. The anime adaptation of The Grand Lord and Martial Universe is also adapted from the same author’s novel.
